Tango announces a three-year charitable partnership with The Prince’s Trust, with a promise to donate £100,000 in the first year alone to support young people.

The Britvic brand has long championed the younger generation through charitable initiatives. Through this partnership, Tango will raise funds to enable the Prince’s Trust to give young people access to over 5,000 hours of one-to-one support including counselling, education and careers advice – helping to unlock their potential and access potentially life changing career opportunities.

The partnership with The Prince’s Trust, a UK charity that supports 11 to 30-year-olds into employment, education and training, marks the latest milestone in Britvic’s broader People and Culture strategy.

The announcement re-enforces Britvic’s continued commitment to youth employment and professional development – with over 70 apprentices working across the business and over 40 placements offered via the Government’s Kickstart scheme which supports 16 to 24-year-olds claiming Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

Ben Marson, Director of Partnerships at The Prince’s Trust, said: “We are delighted to begin this new partnership with Tango which will raise vital funds to support young people get into work, education and training.

“In addition, by bringing our two brands together, we can connect with and inspire more young people to build the confidence they need to thrive.”

The partnership will come to life this summer with an on-pack takeover across Tango Original Orange and Sugar Free Dark Berry flavours, encouraging young people to ‘find their fearless’. With 5p from each pack sold being donated to The Prince’s Trust, a content partnership with LadBible, a social media campaign, and instore activation – the partnership is set to inspire and encourage young people to find their confidence and thrive.

The charity undertakes incredible work supporting young people across the country, and with young people being among the hardest hit coming out of the pandemic, it’s so important we work together to support and inspire them to build their confidence and discover fulfilling career opportunities.”

This year, Britvic’s ‘supported internships’ education initiative has been shortlisted for the 2022 Food and Drink Federation Awards. The initiative offers internships to students with special educational needs in Great Britain as part of their college week and offers paid internship roles to those with diverse abilities in Ireland. The nomination follows Britvic’s award winning young person programme in 2021, which supported sixth form students as they build their career paths.

As well as supporting education initiatives for young people, Britvic also supports local communities through initiatives  including Only a Pavement Away, which offers training and employment opportunities to people facing homelessness, prison leavers and veterans.
