Leading Chinese sauce company, Lee Kum Kee, is expanding its existing range with the addition of two new products – a Sweet Hoisin Sauce and a Seasoned Rice Vinegar.

The new products, which were recently launched into Tesco stores nationwide as well as in Asian stores, celebrate the brand’s 132-year heritage – offering authentic flavours from Chinese cooking to UK consumers.

Originating from the south of China, Hoisin Sauce is a savoury soybean-based sauce with a hint of sweetness and spice. There are multiple interpretations for the name “Hoisin”, a popular one being that the sauce was originally often paired with seafood, which is called “Hoisin” in Cantonese. This year, Lee Kum Kee has adapted the classic Hoisin Sauce creating the new Lee Kum Kee Sweet Hoisin Sauce which is made from selected spices, soybeans, sesame seeds and sweet potatoes. The store cupboard superhero can be used for dipping, dressing and stir-frying and goes well in Vietnamese Pho (rice noodles) and with aromatic crispy duck pancakes.

Alongside this, Lee Kum Kee’s new Seasoned Rice Vinegar has been made from authentic Zhenjiang vinegar and offers complex flavours with a hint of subtle sweetness and malty, woody, smoky flavours and aromas. Popular in Chinese kitchens, especially in the South East of China, the Seasoned Rice Vinegar is a versatile product that can be used for dressing salads, as a seasoning to add a hint of refreshing sourness in stir fry recipes, as a dipping sauce for dumplings, a sauce for noodles and as a dressing or marinade for steak and pork chops.
