Britain’s leading musical star Michael Ball performed recently at a special fundraising Concert in aid of The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice and supported by awarding winning Black Tower, the UK’s top selling German wine brand. The intimate styled sell-out concert took place at Feltonfleet School, Cobham, Surrey and raised more than £50,000 for Shooting Star which provides care, support and advice for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. These care services are offered free of charge to families, 365 days a year across the western half of London and north Surrey, not far from Michael Ball’s home.
Michael Ball has starred in numerous West End and Broadway musicals and recently won the prestigious Olivier award for ‘Best Actor in a Musical’ for his portrayal of Edna Turnblad in Hairspray. He has sold millions of records worldwide, enjoyed numerous sell-out tours and presented TV and radio programmes.
He pledged his support to The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice which bases its care services around the needs of the whole family so that it can make a real difference to families who find themselves in unimaginable circumstances – helping them live life to the full by providing opportunities for fun and laughter, as well as helping them through the tougher times.
“I would like to thank Black Tower for their support which really helps our fundraising efforts. Their wines were very refreshing and greatly enjoyed by everyone,” commented Michael Ball.
