This month, Manchester-based bakery business, St Pierre Groupe, donated over 175,000 St Pierre Brioche Swirls to the charity FareShare for distribution nationwide. The brioche swirls, which have a retail value of approximately £130,000, are being sent to FareShare’s regional centres around the country.

For nearly five years, St Pierre Groupe has also supported Wythenshawe Food Bank and is ensuring that they too, receive approximately 2,700 St Pierre Brioche Swirls.

Senior Marketing and Communications Officer at FareShare, Elina Kanela says “Our food partner support is invaluable in helping us tackle food hunger across the UK, especially during this difficult time. We would like the thank St Pierre Groupe for the donation of delicious brioche swirls – something that I’m sure our charities and community groups will be excited to try, and no doubt enjoy!”

The donations of brioche to FareShare and Wythenshawe Food Bank is just one of the ways that the St Pierre Groupe team has been raising funds for local charities that are trying to help those in need during the health crisis. Founder of St Pierre Groupe, Paul Baker, recently raised £1,500 for Forever Manchester by sharing his rather dramatic new haircut on LinkedIn.

St Pierre Groupe has also been supporting charities further from home by donating to the Care Bags for Care Homes scheme, as well as offering product for the “Coffee for Heroes” initiative organised by Scottish restaurant group, Monterey Jack’s. “Coffee for Heroes” offers NHS workers in Scotland complimentary coffee and delicious St Pierre treats as a thank you for all their efforts during the health crisis.

Paul Baker explains why supporting the community is so important to St Pierre Groupe: “As a business that was born and continues to be based in the North West, it’s really important to us to work with and support our local and wider communities – and that support has never been as vital as it is now. This is very much the time to do what we can, to help others and to look after each other.”
