Soupologie, the UK’s leading superfood, vegan and free-from soup brand, has secured its first national supermarket listing for its first-to-market Souper Cubes range. Launching into the plant based section of the frozen aisle of 186 Tesco stores this month, each of the Souper Cubes products offers consumers six 150g frozen cubes of fresh soup, three full servings, and come in two of its best-selling flavours, Carrot & Turmeric and Pea & Leak (RRP. £3.50). They will also be available this month from wholesalers including CLF, Health Store, Whole Good and Suma.

Bringing a truly innovative ‘eco-soup’ concept to the UK market, the Souper Cubes range boasts a host of benefits across taste and convenience, whilst minimising food waste. The soup is flash frozen from fresh, locking in all the nutrients and making them a fresher alternative to ambient soups. They can be cooked from frozen in the microwave or on the hob in just five minutes, with no need to add anything or blend. Pre portioned for convenience, consumers just heat up what they need and store the remainder for up to a year, ensuring zero food waste, with the packaging also plastic free and fully compostable.

Anastasia Argent, Head of NPD at Soupologie, says, “At Soupologie we’re always looking to innovate the world of healthy nutritious food and we’re extremely proud of our frozen Souper Cubes range, which does just that. Freezing allows us to offer our consumers a convenient way of storing our soups in a long life format, one that has absolutely no compromise on taste, nutrition and freshness, whilst also helping the consumer to reduce food waste and therefore also maximise affordability. Food waste has been a real focus for us at Soupologie, with frozen offering a fantastic solution here, and we’ve also worked hard to ensure the packaging of our Souper Cubes range is plastic-free and fully compostable, so the range is a real ‘eco-first’ for the UK soup category. We’re thrilled to have the support of Tesco as we expand our range into the frozen sector which we feel is ripe for growth and exciting innovation.”

Soupologie is a family business that launched to market in 2012, setting out to become the leading, go-to brand for delicious, free-from, nutritious plant-based food.
