2013 has been a busy and successful year for Scotty Brand, the umbrella food brand for premium seasonal Scottish produce. Not only has Scotty extended its portfolio of potatoes, berries and vegetables with the introduction of three 550g Scotty Brand Fresh Soups, there has been a smoked and un-smoked bacon launch, new 250g summer prepared vegetable packs and coleslaw and potato salad pots.
Scotty has also picked up a number of accolades including the Marketing Society Star Award’s integrated marketing category, Re:Fresh award for Marketing and Business Excellence as well as the overall Grocery Trader of the Year award and the ‘Success Through Working in Partnerships’ award at the 2013 Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards.
The brand is proud of its Scottish roots and the iconic Scotty logo is a familiar site in Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Waitrose and Wholefoods amongst others.
Michael Jarvis, Marketing Manager for Scotty Brand said: “It’s been an extremely successful year for Scotty Brand with category expansions, product extensions and new listings including UK-wide distribution of our 2kg potatoes in ASDA and Morrisons. Our soft fruit was also available across the country during the summer months. Whilst the brand’s heartland is Scotland there is tremendous scope for growth across the UK for our products from customers looking for the very best Scottish-grown produce and food that is healthy, tastes great and offers great value for money.
“We are focused on expanding the Scotty Brand portfolio and reach further in 2014 by continuing to work with carefully selected partners across varied categories to ensure that we provide our customers with the highest quality seasonal food from Scotland all year round.”
Scotty Brand was first launched in 1948 by Albert Barlett, a basketweaver who wanted to support his family and so began boiling up beetroot in an old tin bath, selling it under Scotty Brand.
