Richmond, part of Pilgrim’s Food Masters, today announces the addition of new limited-edition Meat-Free Sage and Onion Sausages to its popular Meat-Free range, ahead of the festive season.

The number one Meat-Free Sausage brand, Richmond,[1] welcomes the new flavour, just in time for autumnal stocking. Giving the much-loved taste and texture of Richmond’s classic’ Meat-Free sausages[2] a festive twist, the seasonal flavour will be available from September until March 2023.

The announcement of the new Sage and Onion flavour follows the success of Richmond’s Meat-Free BBQ Sauce Flavour Sausages, which were launched earlier this year and are now the fifth best-selling sausage in the category[3]. The new flavour is destined to become a customer favourite since it was chosen as a top performing SKU in concept testing research with consumers.

This launch is further evidence of Richmond’s commitment to developing and expanding the meat-free category, offering more choice to consumers and helping retailers attract more meat-free shoppers. Richmond’s Meat-Free range has seen significant expansion this year – in April, the brand announced four new meat-free products, including Richmond Meat-Free Back Bacon and Richmond Meat-Free Deli Slices. The meat-free category offers huge opportunity for retailers – projected to reach nearly £1 billion by 2026 – an incredible 74% increase over four years[4] but great tasting products is key to driving this growth.

Consumer concern around taste and texture is one of the biggest barriers for the plant-based category. By innovating with well-known flavour profiles such as sage and onion, the brand offers a safe adventure for shoppers looking to try something new that is guaranteed to go down well with the whole family.

Richmond’s Meat-Free Sage and Onion Sausages are available now in packs of eight sausages at £2.70 per pack.
