GT – What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

Like most National Account Manager’s I like gaining new listings and seeing the products performing well in store.

photoGT – Who’s inspired you most in your career?

I have been lucky enough to work under some very good directors at three businesses in my career so far – Husky, Nuco and Robinson Young. The directors at all of these have inspired me along the way, in one way or another.

GT – If you were an item in a supermarket, what would you be?

Well obviously I’m going to say ACE Gentle stain remover – as being a savvy person, I always like to have high quality products which give a great value for money.

GT – If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?

No real regrets with my career to date but I would recommend that young people really think about what path they would like to take, because work becomes a very large part of people’s lives. You spend more time working than anything else so you have to enjoy what you do.

GT – What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?

Not so much embarrassing, but because I spend a lot of time in supermarkets dressed in my work attire, I am often asked if I work there and questions about where different groceries can be found.

GT – Who or what makes you laugh?

Well this is a fairly easy one, I would have to say my dog – a loveable but daft chocolate Labrador.

GT – Do you have any hidden talents?

Not a lot of people know this but I do have a hidden DIY talent. I try to keep it quiet though.

GT – Who would be your favourite party guest?

I have recently read Ricky Hatton’s book, ‘Vegas Tales’ in which he shows that he definitely knows how to party, so right now I would definitely pick him.

GT – What is the greatest luxury in your life?

I have recently got a wood burner installed so I’m enjoying that at the moment, along with my Tiger Tim firelighters of course.

GT – What is your favourite guilty pleasure?

It has to be 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s music.

GT – Do you have any secret ambitions?

This would be to retire before I reach 60, so I best keep buying those lottery tickets!

GT – What’s your dream holiday destination?

To visit Australia, would be amazing; it’s a really great destination.

GT – What are your three favourite movies of all time?

In no particular order: The Departed, Casino and Blood Diamond.

GT – What is your favourite book of all time?

My favourite book is Lawrence Dallaglio’s ‘Rugby Tales’. This book had me chuckling to myself all the way through, with stories of what some of the players from his era got up to.

GT – What’s your favourite pastime?

Both playing and watching football.

GT – If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

I would buy properties in various locations around the world, including the UK, and spend a few months in each throughout the year – with the hope of avoiding the cold winters in the UK!

GT – What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into this industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?

Within most businesses there are some very experienced individuals, so I would say be yourself but learn from those who have been there and done it before.

ROBINSON YOUNG
