GT – What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
Seeing a brand like Hippeas go from a concept to +£5m UK retail sales in less than 12 months…
GT – Who’s inspired you most in your career?
I worked with a guy called Timothy Toll in a global sales role at Campbell’s. Tim taught me many things about leadership and customer management, but probably the biggest one was the importance of consumer insight in business.
GT – If you were an item in a supermarket, what would you be?
Oh, that’s easy a pack of Hippeas Cheese & Love.
GT – If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?
I’d quit working in the big box multinational corporate space and start working in the start-up world a lot earlier in my career.
GT – What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?
Falling off stage, whilst presenting was probably the worst.
GT – Who or what makes you laugh?
Richard Pryor was the funniest man alive hands down.
GT – Do you have any hidden talents?
I cook a mean Prawn Saganaki.
GT – Who would be your favourite party guest?
Eddie Izzard – very funny guy with a very clever mind.
GT – What is the greatest luxury in your life?
My wife, I am a very lucky man.
GT – What is your favourite guilty pleasure?
It must be Lindt sea salt and caramel dark chocolate. I’m addicted.
GT – Do you have any secret ambitions?
I would love to have been a professional tennis player but at 5ft 5, It was never going to happen!
GT – What’s your dream holiday destination?
Costa Rica – I have never been but it looks amazing.
GT – What are your three favourite movies of all time?
Life of Brian, Black Hole and Shawshank Redemption.
GT – What is your favourite book of all time?
Business – Jack Welch Winning. Personal – Marcus Brigstocke – God Collar.
GT – What’s your favourite pastime?
I love walking the dog at weekends through the woods it’s a real stress buster.
GT – If you won the Lottery, what would you do?
Give it all away. You get a life by what you give not what you get.
GT – What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into this industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?
Work for a company and industry that you have a passion for.
