The UK’s No. 1 meat free brand[1] is spicing up mealtimes with another first of its kind in the frozen category.

Introducing…Quorn Cheesy Nacho Nuggs!

Made with protein packed Quorn mycoprotein, Quorn Cheesy Nacho Nuggs give a full-on cheese hit that’s seasoned with jalapeno and loaded with a crunchy tortilla style crumb.

The deliciously Cheesy Nacho Nuggs (RRP £2.50, 240g), launch from 9th September in Tesco, followed by Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons in October. The new product is suitable for vegetarians, high in protein and low in saturated fat.

Inspired by Instagram where people are creating their own fried chicken nuggets with crushed up tortilla chips, Quorn has made it really easy to get that great flavour-packed, crunchy combo at home, and even better – meat free!

Gill Riley, Consumer Director at Quorn Foods said, “We’re always keeping a close eye on trends, so we can launch the products that we know consumers will love.

“The demand for our Quorn Cheesy Nacho Nuggs will be huge. Alongside being big on social media, fried chicken style dishes remain popular in QSRs too. There’s a real appetite for crunchy bold flavours.

“Quorn Cheesy Nacho Nuggs performed exceptionally well in consumer research with 97% saying they thought the product was new and different and over two-thirds saying they loved the concept. Consumers also liked the versatility of the product as it works across occasions including lunch, dinner and snacking[2].

“As a first of its kind in the category we’re confident that they’ll add some excitement to the freezer and give consumers another reason to try meat free by offering them an easy and delicious swap.

“We’re incredibly proud of our chicken range. We know from our extensive sensory and scientific research that it’s some of the best in the market in terms of flavour and texture. Our new Quorn Cheesy Nacho Nuggs adds to the depth of our range which is already a big penetration and frequency driver for retailers,” concludes Gill.

Centre plate breaded is the biggest sector in frozen meat free worth £47m. Quorn has a 47% share of the category, and Quorn Crispy Nuggets are the biggest frozen SKU worth £11m annually across its two pack sizes[3].
