Trailblazing meat free brand, Quorn, is on a mission to drive record numbers of shoppers into the meat free category this summer with the help of its latest snacking innovation, Sweet Chilli Bites.

Perfect for picnics, BBQs and snacking, Quorn Sweet Chilli Bites (RRP: £2.25, 180G) will be available from June in Tesco and Ocado. Allowing retailers to tap into the fast growing snacking category, the innovative new product provides a pop of tasty sweet chilli sauce encased in golden breadcrumbs, giving shoppers a tasty upgrade on their usual go-to snacks.

Quorn Sweet Chilli Bites are high in protein and fibre and low in saturated fat, whilst also being better for the planet, due to Quorn’s unique super-protein mycoprotein.

“Meat free snacking is worth £59m and currently 15% of UK shoppers are buying into it*2, making it the largest and highest penetration sector within the meat free category,” says Gill Riley, Marketing Director at Quorn Foods UK.

With 40% looking for a healthy snack product more or all of the time since the COVID-19 pandemic, and taste named a top priority for 76%*3, the bitesize breadcrumb Quorn pieces with a sweet chilli sauce filling are a one-of-a-kind meat free product perfect for shoppers who are looking for healthier snacks that don’t compromise on taste or flavour.

“As restrictions are lifted and we spend more time with our family and friends, Quorn’s Sweet Chilli Bites are a tasty and nutritious staple for anyone’s picnic hamper, garden party or BBQ,” continues Gill.

“We want retailers to make the most of this huge cultural and commercial moment filled with summer staycations, live sports and events. We’re on a mission to make this summer the best ever for both Quorn and the category, by continuing to innovate and inspire at the meat free fixture.

“We are already seeing so many consumers reducing their meat intake and we believe our new Quorn Sweet Chilli Bites will encourage even more shoppers swapping out meat for Quorn, driving further penetration into the category,” concludes Gill.

Quorn is advising retailers to stock up on this innovative new product alongside its shopper favourite snacking range, including Quorn Picnic Eggs and Quorn Cocktail Sausages, to make the most of the summer sales opportunity.
