Quorn® adds to its easy & delicious ‘fakeaway’ options with Katsu Fillets

The UK’s No. 1 meat free brand^*1 is expanding its chilled range with the launch of vegan Quorn Katsu Fillets, giving shoppers a great tasting and convenient midweek meal solution.

The vegan Katsu Fillets (280g, RRP: £3.75^#) will hit Tesco shelves today (3^rd April) and will also be available in Morrisons and Waitrose from 17^th April, followed by Asda stores on 26^th June.

“Taste is still the key consideration for most, with shoppers inspired by different dishes that they have experienced in out of home settings. Crispy coated meat free chicken continues to be a consumer favourite and many people are recreating their favourites at home, looking to treat themselves whilst tightening the belt,” says Gill Riley, Marketing Director at Quorn Foods UK.

“The vegan Katsu Fillets are our latest chilled mid-week ‘fakeaway’ option, a range which already includes Quorn Tempura Fillets, launched last year. These products are easy to cook, taste delicious and offer great value compared to eating out or ordering in.”

Within chilled meat free, Quorn is showing value share growth treble that of its closest branded competitor^*2, highlighting the vital role that Quorn products play for retailers and shoppers.

Quorn Katsu Fillets are made using Quorn vegan fillet coated in a light and crunchy panko style crumb, served with a creamy coco-nutty katsu curry sauce sachet. They are high in protein, high in fibre and low in saturated fat.

Made from Quorn mycoprotein, the versatile super-protein at the heart of all Quorn products that contains all 9 amino acids, is high in protein and fibre and low in saturated fat.

The fillets come in a handy oven-ready tray, so can be placed straight in the oven and ready to serve in just 20 minutes. Offering a tasty and convenient, mess free solution for time pressed shoppers.
