Pukka – the nation’s number one hot pie brand[1] – is bringing the people’s favourite pitch-side pie to UK supermarkets nationwide.

Rolling out from 3rd June 2020 across its chilled single portfolio, Pukka’s Chicken Balti pie has tender pieces of chicken in a rich Balti sauce, all wrapped up in 144 layers of the brand’s signature golden puff pastry.

To stand out on shelf, the limited-edition pie will be highlighted with a stadium-themed design on Pukka’s 100% recyclable packaging, explains Pukka’s Head of Marketing, Rachel Cranston.

“We’ve been selling Pukka into stadiums for over 30 years and our Chicken Balti pie has always been a match day highlight,” adds Cranston. “With the nation currently unable to watch their favourite sport live, now is the perfect time to bring our stadia bestseller to UK supermarkets, so the people of Britain can still enjoy the full football experience from the best seat in the house.”

The launch will be supported with PR and social media and follows a phenomenal year for Pukka which is currently growing by +10.2% value[2]. It also comes hot off the heels of the brand announcing its coverage sponsorship of ITV’s rerun of the epic Euro 96 tournament.

Cranston concludes: “We’ve been making and baking pies in Leicestershire for over 55 years and are continuously looking for ways to give the people of Britain what they want. Our Chicken Balti pie will enable shoppers across the UK to get behind their favourite sport over the summer months and we’re confident they’ll enjoy tucking in at home.”

Pukka’s limited edition Chicken Balti pie hits Morrisons’ shelves from 3rd June. Following this, Tesco will stock the product from July.
