Premier Foods is bringing a new brand to the UK market this month with the launch of Cape Herb & Spice. Through a joint licensed venture, Premier Foods will be distributing the rubs, grinders and chilli tin products that Cape Herb & Spice has to offer – with the range available on Ocado from 17th August. The addition to its portfolio marks the company’s first move into the herbs and spices category, which it aims to reinvigorate, at a time when more people are cooking at home and looking for meal inspiration.
Savan Sabharwal, marketing controller at Premier Foods, comments: “This is the perfect time for us to introduce Cape Herb & Spice to the UK market. We know it can be difficult to find new ideas or have the confidence to experiment with flavours. The Cape Herb & Spice range offers a vast range of products – from an everyday Garlic Addict Grinder, to a Texan Steakhouse Rub – which will help shoppers broaden their repertoire.”
Originating in South Africa, the brand has a 25-year heritage and uses high quality ingredients to deliver maximum flavour. Premium formats with tins and grinders, means that the products can be used during cooking, but also presented at the dinner table.
Sabharwal continues: “Shoppers are looking for choice in this area, as herbs and spices can transform meats and vegetables into an array of different dishes. No matter what level of confidence someone may have in the kitchen, the 14-strong range will help to make mealtimes more exciting.”
Cape Herb & Spice is available now with the products carrying an MRSP of £2.99. The line-up includes
chilli tins – Chipotle, Piri-Piri and Siracha; rubs – Texan Steakhouse, Asian Stirfry, Mediterranean Roast, Caribbean Jerk, Portuguese Peri Peri, Louisiana Cajun; and grinders – BBQ Steak, Garlic Addict, Lamb, Chicken and Italian.
