Partner Logistics has been selected by Pinguin Foods to provide an end-to-end logistics solution from its frozen warehouse in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. As part of the agreement, Partner Logistics will store raw materials alongside finished product, making the Wisbech facility an important link in Pinguin’s supply chain.

Unpackaged processed peas will be stored at the 77,000 pallet warehouse, which Partner Logistics operates directly in the heart of the Fenlands growing area. Peas will then leave the warehouse for packing and return later as finished product ready for distribution to retailers and wholesalers nationwide.

Commenting on the announcement, Jon Miles, Head of UK Operations at Partner Logistics, said: “We are pleased to build upon our existing two year relationship with Pinguin Foods in the UK, and deliver even greater value to their supply chain. Storing both unpackaged and finished product at Wisbech is a real vote of confidence in the facility.”

Nigel Terry, Managing Director of Pinguin Foods UK said: “We are delighted to be extending our existing relationship with Partner Logistics. They continue to deliver outstanding solutions which add significant value and efficiency to our supply chain.”

Since opening in July 2010, Partner Logistics Wisbech has been hugely successful, attracting big name producers to the facility including Lamb Weston and Birdseye. The warehouse throughput has also continued to grow with pallet movements currently exceeding 10,000 per week.

Partner Logistics also operates similar warehouses at Hams Hall in the Midlands and Gloucester, with a combined UK capacity of over 200,000 pallets, as well as a further 12 fully automated warehouses across Europe.

Partner Logistics is a market leader in Europe for the provision of state-of-the-art, highly automated warehousing primarily for frozen foods.

  1. Most of the companies are going for the 3PL companies for managing their logistics. This helps in saving cost with better quality of work.
