close-up-red-filled-conesNow you can colour coordinate your food to suit the occasion thanks to a new idea from pastry supremo, Pidy.

Coloured Mini Cones from Pidy have proved to be one of the company’s most popular lines at this year’s Food & Drink Expo in Birmingham. Available in four tasty shades – green (spinach), red (tomato), black (squid ink) and neutral, the idea arose from the brand’s original Mini Cone Neutre, a crisp corn wafer cone which is 7.5cm in length and has a diameter of 2.5cm at the top. Dimensions for the new coloured cones are the same.

And, as with the Neutral Cone, these eye-catching variations can be filled with pate, mousse, seafood – in fact, anything that the customer requires. The difference is, it’s the carrier that comes with a flourish of colour so now the caterer can mix and match their ingredients.

And, for really posh canapés, why not put a filling in the red version and add a sprinkling of black poppy seeds or a spoonful of black caviar or lumpfish roe to the top? Yum! To make your centrepiece look even more stunning this latest range can be presented on Pidy’s gold artist’s palette (see picture).

Pidy’s Coloured Mini Cones and artist’s palette holders are available from all of your usual stockists. They come in outers of four boxes, each containing 24 pieces.
