The world’s number-one vodka, Smirnoff, is launching new Smirnoff Seltzers (4.7% ABV) – available to the UK off-trade from June.
Made from a mix of Smirnoff No.21 Premium Vodka, sparkling water and natural fruit flavours, the Seltzer range includes two flavours – Smirnoff Seltzer Raspberry & Rhubarb and Smirnoff Seltzer Orange & Grapefruit. Available in a 250ml ready-to-drink can, Smirnoff Seltzers are best served chilled from the fridge, or over ice in a glass.
With the UK ready-to-drink category having boomed in recent years, with sales growing 28% from 2018 to 2019, and following on from the growth of the Hard Seltzer market in the US, which was valued at more than $1.5 billion in 2019, the Smirnoff Seltzer launch comes at an exciting time for the category. A delicious summer serve, it taps into the consumer demand for spritz-style drinks and, at 72 calories per 250ml serving, also offers a great alternative for those looking for a lighter calorie option to wine and beer. A 250ml serving of Smirnoff Seltzer contains 54% less calories than a regular 175ml glass of wine and 49% less calories than a 330ml bottle of beer.
