Sainsbury’s has today added its great value, high quality convenience offer to the mix on one of the UK’s busiest pedestrian shopping streets, with the opening of its newest store in Nottingham city centre, Nottingham Clumber Street Local. Store manager Chris Grace and his team welcomed their first customers this morning after colleagues cut the ribbon during a small ceremony to celebrate the store’s opening.
The new store has a sales floor of 1,950 sq. ft. with over 2,000 products on offer and will serve customers from 7am – 11pm seven days a week. Local residents, workers and shoppers will now have the opportunity to pick up a bite to eat from Sainsbury’s delicious selection of sandwiches and ‘food to go’, as well as choose a freshly made drink from a self-service Costa coffee machine or orange juicer. The store will also stock an excellent range of fresh food, fruit and vegetables, in store bakery and other household grocery products.
Sainsbury’s has a long history of serving the community from Nottingham city centre and the 23 colleagues that make up the Clumber Street team will play an active role in the local area, as well as supporting Sainsbury’s nationwide charity partners and volunteering programmes. Nearby charities that Sainsbury’s has recently supported include Framework, Arnold Food Bank and Footprints Conductive Education.
The new Local’s arrival on Clumber Street follows Sainsbury’s recent announcement that it will also be opening its new supermarket in nearby Colwick next month, on the 10th of November 2021.
