Encona Sauces, the UK’s number one hot pepper sauce brand* is launching new and improved recipes for two of its market leading products.
Encona Jerk BBQ Sauce 142ml has been reformulated using a special blend of authentic Jamaican Jerk seasoning with a rich BBQ sauce. The result is a mild and spicy ready-to-use sauce that is perfect as a marinade. Encona Peri Peri Sauce 142ml has been reworked and now has an improved flavour, colour and consistency in time for the BBQ season.
Lisa Leung, Brand Manager for Encona at Enco Products, the Grace Foods UK subsidiary and leading supplier of Caribbean food and drink says: “We are constantly looking at ways to improve our range to ensure customers are enjoying the best quality sauces.
“Feedback on the new flavours has been excellent and we are certain they will help retailers to drive incremental sales.”
Independent retailers looking to benefit from the growing consumer interest in world foods should take a closer look at the fast-growing Caribbean market, as Leung explains: “Category loyalists are buying more than ever before as they become more adventurous with their cooking, while new consumers are expanding their taste horizons across a wide range of food and drink products.
“The key to making the most of interest in Caribbean sauces is effective sign-posting and merchandising. Market-leading lines such as Encona Sauces will act as beacon brands as consumers now recognise and trust them.
“It’s also worth dual-siting some products in more ‘mainstream’ aisles as Caribbean food is no longer the preserve of the Caribbean community. Those days are long gone.
“Such is the consumer interest in Caribbean food and drink that in 2012 Grace Foods organised the UK’s first ever Caribbean Food Week. The celebration of Caribbean food and drink will be repeated 19-25 August 2013 in the run-up to Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s biggest street festival.”
The versatility of the Encona Sauces range enables retailers to generate maximum profits.
“Some consumers may not be aware that Encona Sauces can be used for a wide range of cooking occasions; whether it is as an ingredient for cooking, a marinade before grilling, as a pour over on the BBQ, as a table sauce or simply as a dressing or a dip. As a result, the range offers maximum profit potential,” concludes Leung.
