A simple air freshener created an issue for Croydon based manufacturer David Franklin which literally got up their customers noses.
As a heavily fragranced & aggressive product they needed a packaging solution which would retain the fragrance within the packet and prevent the aroma from tainting other products around it during its time in the supply chain and on the shelf.
On recommendation David Franklin turned to Bradford film specialists, National Flexible whose experience in the field of barrier films was to prove invaluable.
Working closely with National Flexible’s technical team, they were soon running extensive trials using a bespoke coated film suitable for containing such a potent smelling product.
“Due to the nature of the product we had to ensure that there was no possible way that it could contaminate other items around it”, said Mark Thompson – National Flexible’s Development Director. “Our prior experience working with similar bespoke films for the confectionary industry gave us a head-start with this project” he continued.
Under the Pongo brand the air fresheners are currently available in all well-known petrol stations as well as major supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.
