Four new festive launches and a lower-priced four-pack format bring modern flavours, sharing appeal and accessible choice to the seasonal cake aisle

Mr Kipling is set to make Christmas even sweeter in 2026, with four new seasonal launches and a new four-pack format joining its festive range from September. The line-up introduces two Festive Novelty Tarts, two limited-edition Cake Bites tubs and a new, more accessible pack format for Mince Pie Whirls, giving retailers more opportunities to tap into festive occasions across sharing, treating and everyday indulgence.

The cake category at Christmas is worth £307m and reaches 21 million shoppers, but younger consumers remain underrepresented in the category, with under-45 penetration averaging 55% versus 79% among over-45s. With younger shoppers increasingly seeking festive classics with a twist,1 Mr Kipling’s Christmas 2026 range has been developed to bring a more contemporary edge to Christmas through modern flavour combinations, indulgent chocolate experiences, sharing formats and more accessible price points.2

Festive Novelty Tarts bring new energy to Christmas

Mr Kipling is bringing a fresh twist to Christmas with the launch of Chocolate & Gingerbread and White Chocolate & Hazelnut Flavour Festive Novelty Tarts. Inspired by demand for festive classics with a twist, the tarts are the first Mr Kipling range to feature decorative novelty sprinkles, adding extra festive fun and shelf standout. The range leverages flavour territories such as Hazelnut and Chocolate which over-index with younger consumers (under-45s) at 127 and 131 respectively for total cakes. Paired with chocolate to deliver greater indulgence, the range is designed to bring new excitement to familiar festive flavours.3 4

Seasonal Cake Bites expand sharing occasion

The brand is also expanding its festive range with two limited-edition Cake Bites tubs, Gingerbread Cake Bites and Christmassy Cake Bites. Inspired by two of Christmas’ much-loved flavour territories, the range combines the warming taste of gingerbread and the nostalgic flavours of traditional mince pies with a decadent coating of smooth milk chocolate, bringing a more indulgent twist to festive favourites. Available in a bite-sized sharing format, the tubs are designed for festive get-togethers and seasonal indulgence.4

Mince Pie Whirls return in a more accessible four-pack

Completing the line-up is the return of Mr Kipling Mince Pie Whirls, back for Christmas 2026 in a new four-pack format. With Mince Pies now worth more than £75m and remaining one of Christmas’ most-loved flavour territories, the smaller pack size delivers a lower entry price point, helping make the popular festive favourite more accessible while driving trial among younger and lighter seasonal shoppers.5

Naomi Shooman, Global Marketing Director for Sweet Treats at Premier Foods, said:

“Christmas is a crucial time for the category, and mince pies remain at the heart of festive traditions. We know they are a much-loved favourite, but we are always looking for new ways to surprise and delight consumers, from premium treats such as our two-pack Signature Collection Mince Pies to fresh twists on classic festive flavours.

Across the wider range, we’ve introduced new flavour combinations and formats designed to bring fresh excitement to the category, helping retailers appeal to evolving shopper tastes and unlock new seasonal purchase occasions.”

We can already feel the festive spirit in the air, and with Christmas excitement building, there’s no time like the present to get into the festive spirit!”
