Mondelēz International is expanding its sugar confectionery range with three new flavours: Maynards Bassetts Tropical Fruit Mix, Sour Patch Kids Paradise Twist and Sour Patch Kids Peach. The new additions tap into consumer demand for more exotic candy flavours and are a great opportunity for retailers to appeal to a wider audience.

Maynards Bassetts

Maynards Bassetts is the UK’s second-biggest candy brand[1] with over 100 years of sweet-making heritage. Its Tropical Fruit Mix is an assortment of Pineapple, Mango, Peach, and Passionfruit flavours in tropical-themed shapes such as a turtle, fish, parrot, shell and starfish.

Maynards Bassetts Tropical Fruit Mix is made with real fruit juice, and is non-HFSS-compliant. The product prioritises taste and quality to cater to the brand’s muti demographic appeal, thanks to the brand’s heritage.

Sour Patch Kids

The new Sour Patch Kids Paradise Twist and Sour Patch Kids Peach NPD follows the success of Sour Patch Kids Blue Raspberry and looks to drive new flavour excitement in the sugar confectionery category.

Sour Patch Kids is one of the fastest-growing confectionery brands[2], growing 26.9% year-on-year[3]. Last year’s innovation Sour Patch Kids Blue Raspberry was the second biggest candy NPD launch in 2025[4], and the flavour has now become the second most popular Sour Patch Kids product in the UK[5].

With more than half of 16-34-year-olds seeking new exotic fruit flavours within candy[6], the additions of Paradise Twist and Peach to the Sour Patch Kids range are set to continue to support the brand’s growth while also recruiting new consumers to the category.

Sour Patch Kids Paradise Twist features the iconic Sour Patch Kids shape in a range of fun flavours and colours including Mango, Watermelon, Pineapple and Tropical Mix-Up. And Sour Patch Kids Peach offers a vegan and Halal option to suit different dietary requirements and will come in playful peach shapes.

Available nationwide from July, the three new products come in a range of pack sizes and are ideal for seasonal displays, helping retailers attract new and existing shoppers with trusted brands and on-trend flavours.

Isabella Taylor, Junior Brand Manager, Candy, Mondelēz International, said: “Maynards Bassetts and Sour Patch Kids continue to bring excitement and innovation to the confectionery aisle through bold flavours, playful formats and products that meet evolving shopper needs.”

“With shoppers increasingly looking for more adventurous taste experiences, particularly within fruity and sour candy, these launches tap directly into demand for exotic flavours while offering retailers trusted brands with strong growth momentum. From the tropical-inspired shapes and flavours of Maynards Bassetts Tropical Fruit Mix to the continued success of Sour Patch Kids and its latest Peach and Paradise Twist variants, these additions are designed to help retailers drive impulse purchases, recruit new shoppers into the category and create standout seasonal displays.” “

Maynards Bassetts Tropical Fruit Mix will also be supported by Maynards Bassetts’ ‘Set the Juice Loose’ campaign which will run from early July until September.
