New research reveals that consumers value social interactions with their colleagues, with Monday morning conversations essential in helping them to feel motivated for the week ahead. In fact, 64 per cent of workers start their working week with an informal conversation with colleagues before getting down to business on a Monday[i].
The research has been released by the No.1 cough / throat lozenge brand, Jakemans,[ii] as we prepare for the peak winter season, when we see an increase in winter ailments such as coughs and sore throats. The research findings shine a light on the need for the public to look after their voice in order to have those crucial conversations with colleagues as winter coughs approach and put a further strain on voices.
To help raise consumer awareness and educate on the importance of looking after our voices, Jakemans is working with Dr Lynda Shaw, Behavioural Neuroscientist and Leadership Psychologist. Dr Shaw explains: “It’s clear from the research just how much we rely on those all-important conversations that motivate us for the week ahead. Maintaining a healthy and strong voice is crucial as we head into winter months that may bring ailments that put a further strain on our voices.”
Speaking about the research, Elizabeth Hughes-Gapper, Brand Manager for Jakemans, commented: “The new research shows that the return to office working and typical Monday commutes mean consumers are looking for quick grab and go solutions to help ease symptoms of over-used voices, and sore throats. We know that the winter season also brings a wave of common ailments, so retailers need to ensure they’re stocking trusted products that the public relies on for relief.”
