Mezzanine International, a leading UK supplier of specialised steel structures, has revealed that like for like year to date sales are up by 119%. At the same time, the firm announced that it is switching its headquarters to larger premises in Kings Hill, near Maidstone. The move will see the firm expanding into to a 4,397sq ft suite as it takes advantage of the business park’s connectivity links to increase its footprint.

The company, which designs, manufactures and installs mezzanine floors, has always prided itself on being an innovator – having been one of the first to embrace CAD design and quality management via BS 5750 and ISO 9001. Now, the latest chapter in the trusted advisor’s history will see it improving services for customers and suppliers alike as it offers enhanced access and lines of communication with the outside world.

Scott Chambers, director of Mezzanine International, said that the move would also see Mezzanine reducing its costs as it takes advantage of the park’s comprehensive IT provisions – something he believes will translate into new benefits for customers.

“Buoyed by strong exports and a home market which is now back to pre-recession levels, like for like year to date sales are up 119%. Now, the new full-fibre optics broadband, dual back up on servers, full Wi-Fi and multi-system live screens in our open plan office will make ours the most up to date, cutting edge headquarters in our market sector,” he said. “We have a lot of overseas clients and we will now be able to communicate with them directly wherever they are in the world. This will cut the cost of project management and design contracts, reduce the need for air travel and give clients immediate access to our design team.”

For more than 20 years Mezzanine International has been providing expert advice and installing mezzanine floors in warehouses, distribution centres, manufacturing plants, airports, retail and commercial units where clients are seeking to maximise their space. One recent contract win saw the firm create a two-level mezzanine replicating the fuselage of the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, which was used for Air France crew training at Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Adds Chambers, “Our growth has been carefully planned and controlled and we are now looking forward to beginning phase two of the company’s development. The move to Kings Hill will provide our clients with better access to us and vice versa. We have also built 50% additional capacity into our office space to ensure our new surroundings will grow with us. Another added bonus was the recent trademarking of our name as further proof of the heritage we bring to the business. ”
