Leading flexible packaging specialist takes prize in fiercely contested medium web category for Disney balloon bags

Further underlining its trailblazing reputation within the flexible packaging industry, Mercury Packaging recently won a silver award in the fiercely contested medium web category at the prestigious annual European Flexographic Trade Association (EFTA) dinner.  The company picked up the prize for its range of printed balloon bags supplied to Italian design & marketing company Pegaso for Disney.

The eye-catching bags feature a number of different Disney designs, namely Toy Story 3, Cars, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Fairies, Disney Princess and Mickey Mouse, as well as conventional birthday greetings, and contain a range of different sizes and numbers of balloons.

Produced from clear Cast Polypropylene (CPP film) they were printed in six colours using Mercury’s state-of-the-art eight-colour flexo printing press.The finished product is a bag with side weld, lateral seal and punched Euroslot suitable for hanging on point-of-sale displays.
