McGuigan Wines, four-time international winemaker of the year, has extended its iconic Shortlist Riesling into Asda supermarkets nationwide, joining the Shortlist Grenache Shiraz Mouvedre (GSM) from the Barossa Valley already available.

The Shortlist has become one of McGuigan’s most awarded wines across global competitions winning multiple awards at the IWSC and New York IWC to name a few – recognised for encompassing the premium Eden Valley wine region from which it has established its distinguished reputation.

This Riesling is full of citrus lemon and lime flavours held together with a persistent acidity ensuring great ageing ability. This wine is attractive on the nose with lifted floral notes of jasmine and lemon blossom.

Fresh, crisp and well balanced, The Shortlist Riesling is perfectly matched to shellfish, freshly shucked oysters and delicate seafood, balancing the food with its crisp acidity. Perfect to drink now or cellar it for 5 – 6 years allowing it to develop in complexity that this multi award winning wine is known for.

Chief operating officer for the UK and Europe, Julian Dyer, said: “We’re proud to be able to continue expanding the distribution of one our most awarded wines in the McGuigan portfolio. The scale of awards that this tier of wines has won is a true accolade to the ability of our world class winemaking team.

“The Shortlist Riesling proves the popularity of Australian wine found in the Eden Valley region, which has ideal climates and soils for premium vineyards. It’s a perfect choice for those consumers looking to celebrate that special occasion.’’

The Shortlist Riesling is now available to buy now from Asda, RRP £14.
