The premium velvety, smooth, and creamy chocolate drink, Chocomel is set to launch its popular one-litre carton format into the grocery channel for the first time.

Available on Morrisons shelves from 14th March, the larger size pack is ideal for sharing. The up to 9 months shelf life makes the carton a strong addition to a store cupboard or pantry, ready to be transferred to the fridge and enjoyed as an ice-cold refreshment or consumed warm with a whipped cream topping as a comforting treat.

The one-litre carton packs are made from 88% plant-based materials, using FSC-approved cardboard. They are also fully recyclable, including the lid. Chocomel is proudly UTZ certified, the world’s largest cocoa certification programme which is part of the Rainforest Alliance – meaning all cocoa used to create its unique premium taste is sustainable. The credentials will be called out on-pack to further increase shopper awareness.

Gabriella Sudall, Marketing Manager NPD (Chocomel) at FrieslandCampina UK, said: “For nearly 90 years, Chocomel has been a firm favourite in the Netherlands. Since launching the one-litre format into convenience, we have seen great success with sales reaching £1.4m[1] and we’re now the UK’s Fastest Growing Premium Milk Drink[2]. We’re confident we’ll see similar results in the grocery channel, driven by both existing loyal customers and new fans alike as this additional channel brings the product to even wider audiences.”

The FrieslandCampina owned brand plans to support the launch of the one-litre format with shopper activity that will direct shoppers to purchase and drive the at-home and sharing consumption occasions.
