Frozen snack disruptor Little Moons announces its first-ever product collaboration, partnering with challenger confectionery brand Candy Kittens to launch a limited-edition Sour Watermelon mochi sorbet, available from 12th August on Ocado.com, with an RRP £5.00.

Driven by ongoing consumer demand and social listening, the limited-edition flavour collaboration is a direct response to fans’ requests across TikTok for a sour watermelon flavour, marking a first for both Candy Kittens and Little Moons to co-create, while tapping into the growing appetite for bold and trending, sour flavour profiles.

The combination of the two fan-favourite brands with strong Gen Z and Millennial followings, showcases a strategic crossover between frozen snacking and confectionery. It signals both brands’ ambition to extend relevance beyond their core categories and capture incremental occasions within the evolving snacking landscape.

The new product delivers a sharp sour hit that gives way to a smooth watermelon sorbet centre, encased in Little Moons’ signature soft mochi dough. The result is a distinctive sweet-sour format designed to disrupt the frozen aisle and drive trial through flavour-led innovation, a key growth driver, given that new products have delivered 75% of total Frozen Snacking category growth over the last two years.[1]

The new collaboration comes hot off the heels of Little Moons’ most innovative launch within the snacking category yet: Mini Moons – a new, even smaller bite-sized sharing format, which has swiftly become the number one driver of absolute value growth in the Mochi & Bites category. [2]

Bringing together trend-led flavours, portion-controlled indulgence and strong British cultural relevance, the limited edition is designed to welcome new shoppers into the category while encouraging existing ones to explore new snacking flavours in frozen.

Vivien Wong, Little Moons co-foundersaid: “We knew our first collaboration had to be something truly exciting and feel extra special and Candy Kittens absolutely nailed that for us. British-born, B-Corp certified, founder-led, and, most importantly, backed by one of the most engaged fan bases out there, we knew our TikTok community would be delighted to see a Sour Watermelon inspired sorbet, so we had no other choice. We had to approach Jamie Laing and make it happen! The result is a product designed to drive both excitement and incremental growth in the frozen aisle.”

Jamie Laing, co-founder of Candy Kittens commented: It’s hard to ignore the noise online, but when your community keeps asking for something, it’s pretty difficult to say no. So when Little Moons came to us with this collaboration, I was so excited to see what they could do with our best-selling flavour and Sour Watermelon. This is something that feels fresh, exciting and honestly delicious and bringing something completely new to the market has been a lot of fun.”

Katie Banford, Senior Buyer for Frozen at Ocado Retail says: “We’re delighted to be the only grocery retailer to stock the exciting new collaboration between Little Moons and Candy Kittens  – just in time for the final picnics and Al fresco evenings. This product allows customers to shop a combination of two of our top selling brands on site for a new freezer favourite.”

The Limited-edition Little Moons X Candy Kittens Sour Watermelon will be available from 12th August, on Ocado.com with an RRP £5.00.
