The agency was founded by Bertrand Massanes (formerly marketing & sales manager for Danone and Reckitt Benckiser), whose concept was to start a company that could become the ‘third eye’ for the client.

With a fresh approach and creative flair, Little Buddha has brought brands ‘to life’ for many prestige household names such as D.E Master Blenders 1753, Danone, Henkel, Revlon, Wrigley and Orangina Schweppes. With its core Mediterranean roots the company is also a popular choice for companies looking to design and package associated ‘Deli foods’ such as ham and cured meats, nuts, olive oil and olive snacks, and, of course, wine and cava!

From its head office in Barcelona, it has expanded rapidly with an international team of talented designers drawn from across the globe, growing from four people in 2007 to now 26 employees. In the last two years the agency has doubled in size and moved to bigger premises to Barcelona’s tech district, a renowned location for design and innovation companies. The UK office has been opened to attract new British clients as well as to support existing customers in Northern European countries.

The teams’ keen eye for detail and graphics, coupled with the enrichment offered by 11 different nationalities and marketing background, allows them to draw on the experiences and benefits from their own cultural identities and blend them together into something unique that has won them long lasting clients in many Western and European markets, as well as in the USA and Canada.

Newest recruit, Chief Creative Director Walter Ochoa, is Australian with central-American family roots. Previously working at London-based identity agency Small Back Room and at the multinational CB’a (Ogilvy group), his work in design and illustration has been recognised with many awards.

Cristina Travieso, Project Director for Little Buddha, comments: “I am delighted to announce the launch of the UK office, based on the strong foundation and support of our Spanish headquarters where I previously worked on and led some of their largest accounts. Our energy and enthusiasm for brands has finally found its way to Britain!”
