Leading coffee brand Kenco is set to rejuvenate the category with its new Kenco Iced/Hot Dubai Chocolate Style Latte. With over 460,000 posts on TikTok[1] and consistent growth in interest over the past year, the Dubai Chocolate flavour is a proven hit with younger consumers. This new launch will offer retailers a unique opportunity to drive incremental sales by tapping into this viral flavour and cater to the new generation of coffee drinkers who continue to be interested in flavoured coffee.
Kenco has responded to this demand in record time, from initial concepts to products being on shelves in four months, all while priced at an accessible £1.99**. This limited-edition beverage has been expertly blended to achieve the perfect balance of pistachio and chocolate flavour, topped with a sweet froth that lasts for every sip.
With the popularity of Dubai Chocolate calculated to be most prevalent in the ages 16-24[2], Kenco’s innovative product caters to the next generation of coffee drinkers and their desire for at home convenience and beverages that align with trending flavours. 26% of consumers want more convenient iced coffee options[3], so these single-sachet packs create even more consumption occasions with consumers able to enjoy both iced and hot, providing a great opportunity for retailers to maximise their rate of sale throughout the entire year.
The UK grocery coffee category, valued at over £1.6 billion[4], is experiencing notable growth, particularly in frothy coffee. With a 9.4%[5] increase, and a third of consumers buying in, it’s proving to be a key driver for the industry. With latte being the top choice for 72% of coffee shop consumers[6], this new product offers a dual-function format. The in-home frothy coffee category continues to grow, with sales up 10%[7], over a third of this is led by Kenco, which has seen 17% growth within its specialties’ range[8].
Maria Kabalyk, Head of Category & Shopper, Jacobs Douwe Egberts Peet’s, UK&IE: “Our new Kenco Iced/Hot range directly addresses growing demand driven by viral trends, appealing directly to the younger generation’s desire for on-the-go refreshment. By offering delicious new flavours in a convenient format, and bringing this innovation to market with exceptional speed, we’re empowering retailers to capitalise on the growing consumer desire for a wider range of high-quality, convenient coffee choices.”
Kenco is supporting the launch with an extensive 250k in store activation including in-store sampling and shopper initiatives.
This launch follows the recent introduction of the Kenco Iced/Hot Whipped Americano Frappe and the Kenco Iced/Hot Creamy Latte, both launched this month, further expanding Kenco’s innovative and convenient coffee offerings.
Kenco Iced/Hot Dubai Chocolate Style Latte (8 sachets, each 19.5g) will be available exclusively in Asda from 19th June at a price of £1.99**, other major supermarkets August onwards.
* The promotion price/mechanic constitutes a maximum resale price.
