“We’re excited to launch Dolmio® 7 Vegetables Pasta Sauce a jar full of seven different varieties of delicious veg, designed to help the whole family pack more flavour, variety and vegetables into their diet. Our ambition at Dolmio® is to help more families enjoy drama-free dinnertimes together by providing healthy products which are quick to prepare and, of course, delicious. At the start of 2021, Mars Food committed to deliver 5.5 billion healthy meals globally by 2025 – including adding 4 billion servings of vegetables in the next 5 years across the world. Dolmio® 7 Vegetables Pasta Sauce is a great example of some of the innovation we’re bringing to deliver on our goal and help the UK eat more fruit and vegetables as each serving contains two of your five a day!”

– Giulia Somma, Marketing Manager Mars Food

Starting from a base of well known and loved classic Italian dishes, Dolmio® have packed each 350g jar of the 7 Vegetables Pasta Sauce, full of tasty, nutritious vegetables. For example, the Mediterranean Roasted Vegetable sauce is jam-packed with vegetables, including aubergine, red and yellow peppers, basil, and courgettes! With no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, this range of delicious Italian sauces are made with only wholesome ingredients. What’s more, each serving contains two of your five a day.

Dolmio® 7 Vegetables will be available in three tasty recipes; Mediterranean Roasted Veg, Sun Ripened Tomato & Basil, and Sun Ripened Tomato & Chilli at a RRP of £1.97*.

Dolmio® is the highest penetrated Italian brand in Britain, and with our commitment to ensuring that nutrition is never compromised by convenience, we’re here to deliver on our promise. The increase in home cooked meals also means that Italian is the perfect category for this as consumers see Italian sauces as a ‘scratch cook’ ingredient.[1]

The new sauce taps into a growing trend of shoppers seeking healthier alternatives. Research shows that the most common healthy eating behaviour is eating at least 5 fruit and vegetables a day, with 46 per cent saying they have done this in the last 6 months.[2]

The launch is supported by an influencer campaign and out of home activation, as well as in-store activations and digital above the line support across 2022.

Mars Food has recently published The Third Edition of the Mars Food Nutrition Criteria – the guiding principles that help us to deliver healthy dinnertime meals. Mars Food are incredibly proud to adopt the strictest and most widely agreed upon nutrition recommendations issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other leading public health authorities to set the limits for added sugar, salt, and fat content in all its products. The Criteria guides Mars Food’s product innovation and reformulation, as well as setting targets for adding more vegetables, wholegrains, and fibre. Setting a high bar for Mars Food’s products will help the company to deliver their global commitment of 5.5 billion healthy meals by 2025 and ensure that 95% (or more) of its products meet these nutrition standards.
