The event was organised as part of Heron Foods’ charity partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. The intrepid team of five is made up of Tony Dobbs (Head of Retail), Craig Antrobus (Regional Manager), Leighton Smith (Area Manager), Tom Evans (Estates Surveyor) and Trevor Norton (Bridlington Store Manager).

As if this wasn’t enough of a challenge, Craig Antrobus ran the Great North Run (13 miles) on Sunday, September 11, 2016 – and also walked the three Yorkshire Peaks on Sunday, September 24, 2016 – a whopping 54 miles in total! Mike Igoe of Heron Foods, said: “The HQ to HQ Challenge is just one of the hundreds of fundraising activities the company has already completed, including in-store prize draws, customer competitions and themed dress up days for staff.

“We’re thrilled to be able to cycle the HQ to HQ Challenge in aid of Macmillan. This is definitely one of the toughest, yet most exhilarating challenges we’ve ever attempted. Knowing the money we raise will be used to make sure no one faces cancer alone, is the best part of all.”

Catriona Munn, Partnership Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support says, “The 220 mile HQ to HQ cycling challenge is a gruelling but fantastic feat for the team to take on. We know that the number of people living with cancer is rising and so support like this is vital to help ensure no one faces cancer alone. Well done Team Heron!”
