Henderson Technology has reached a significant milestone with the installation of its 1,000th EDGEPoS Digital Media Screen, highlighting growing retailer demand for dynamic digital signage solutions that help stores engage shoppers, promote offers and reduce reliance on traditional printed POS.

The landmark installation was recently completed at a store operated by independent retailer Jempson’s Supermarkets alongside the installation of a new Barista Bar coffee-to-go machine. Barista Bar is the coffee-to-go brand owned by Henderson Foodservice Ltd. The milestone also marks four years since the first EDGEPoS Digital Media Screen was introduced. Today, more than 800 retail locations across the UK use the technology, with some retailers operating multiple screens throughout their stores.

Designed to provide retailers with a flexible and impactful way to communicate with shoppers, EDGEPoS Digital Media Screens are used to display a wide range of promotional and customer messaging. From coffee-to-go and foodservice offers to seasonal campaigns to store announcements and limited-time promotions, the solution enables retailers to keep content fresh, relevant and engaging.

Unlike traditional printed POS, content can be updated remotely and scheduled in advance, allowing retailers to react quickly to changing campaigns and trading opportunities. With content scheduled and deployed centrally by Henderson Technology, retailers also benefit from considerable time savings, eliminating the need for store teams to regularly replace posters and promotional materials.

The solution has become increasingly popular as retailers seek more flexible and cost-effective ways to communicate with customers while maintaining consistency across their stores. Campaigns can be updated quickly to reflect seasonal activity, supplier promotions and key trading events throughout the year.

Darren Nickels, Retail Technology Operations Director at Henderson Technology, said: “Reaching 1,000 EDGEPoS Digital Media Screen installations is a significant milestone for Henderson Technology and reflects the growing demand for digital signage solutions within the convenience and forecourt sectors.

“Retailers are increasingly looking for ways to communicate more effectively with customers while improving operational efficiency. The ability to update content quickly and maintain consistency across multiple locations has made digital signage an increasingly important part of the modern retail environment.

“As retailers continue to look for ways to enhance customer engagement and respond quickly to changing market conditions, we are committed to developing solutions that help them create more connected, efficient and engaging store environments.”

Henderson Technology offers a wide range of digital media hardware options, from 32-inch displays through to 76-inch screens, supporting both portrait and landscape formats in Full HD and 4K resolution to suit different retail environments and requirements.

By embedding digital signage within its wider retail technology portfolio, Henderson Technology is helping retailers transform static displays into dynamic marketing tools that support customer engagement, promotional flexibility and operational efficiency.
