fruit-shotHappy Monkey, makers of the UK’s first Acai superjuice drink, has launched a new range of 100% pure fruit smoothies for the children’s market in 180ml Tetra Wide Aseptic cartons.

Available in strawberry & banana and orange & mango flavours, each 180ml carton contains the equivalent of one portion of a child’s 5-a-day. With their shape and light weight they are perfect for kids’ lunchboxes, picnics and journeys.

The strong environmental credentials of cartons made them the logical choice for Greg Boyle and Wayne Hitchman, the brains behind the Happy Monkey brand, who have worked hard to ensure that every element of the production process is as ethical and sustainable as possible.

Anders Olsson, marketing director at Tetra Pak UK, said “The kids market can be one of the toughest to crack, however the fully brandable surface of cartons makes them a good choice for brands wishing to target kids and parents alike. Happy Monkey does a good job of this, with its funky, ‘just for kids’ branding, and parent-pleasing nutritional values.”

stamp_o15Explaining their choice of packaging for the new range, Greg Boyle says “As well as being healthy and nutritious, we wished to stay true to our ethical principles with Happy Monkey. Cartons have a strong environmental story to tell because they are light-weight, widely recyclable, have a low carbon profile and are made mainly from a renewable resource – wood.”

Happy Monkey smoothies will be sold in Sainsbury’s and Booths. RSP for a carton of four is £2.39.
