The Ice Cream of Ice Creams brand, Häagen-Dazs, has announced the return of its summer cocktail-inspired collection across key grocery channels; the refreshing cocktails, brought to life in ice cream and sorbet, is the perfect treat for adults.
After a strong performance in 2021, Lime Mojito Sorbet and Piña Colada ice cream pints are back! Both SKUs are now available in Asda, followed by a semi national roll-out across grocery, convenience, and wholesale, over the coming months. The iconic flavours will also be introduced in a new mini cup format, launching exclusively in Co-op from 21st March.
The seasonally inspired collection taps into increasing consumer demand for Alcohol Ice Cream (+6% CAGR globally), which is growing faster than its parent categories (Alcohol +2.38% vs. Ice cream +5.1%)[1]. But with less than 1.1% of alcohol in each tub, they are the perfect ice cream substitute for the refreshing indulgence of alcoholic cocktails without compromising on taste.
By extending the collection into mini cups, Häagen-Dazs is tapping into the mindful indulgence trend and empowering consumers with more snackable choices. Mini cups have high consumer appeal, with Häagen-Dazs mini cups currently outperforming the category, growing by 67% and up +38% MAT in convenience vs. two YA[2].
Jose Alves, Marketing Manager at Häagen-Dazs UK, said: “The Häagen-Dazs cocktail collection flavours will bring an exotic moment of joy to consumers, through the unique combination of our luxurious creamy ice cream and two cocktail favourites. The now multiformat range, will inspire different consumption occasions that will drive trade up in the category this summer.
“This year, we’re building on the original momentum of the launch with a fun activation focus that will really resonate with our audiences, so watch this space! Why make shoppers choose between cocktails and ice cream – when they can have the best of both worlds?”
