r-manners-grp-0209Several years after last specifying GRP refrigerated van conversions, North East meat company R Manners and Sons has returned to GRP for its latest batch of refrigerated vans. Three brand new Ford Transit 350 vans have joined the company’s 18 strong distribution fleet delivering a range of meat products throughout the North East and North Yorkshire.

Using a GAH Arrow AF20 refrigeration system, the vehicle bodies on all three Transits for R Manners and Sons are being used for –5°C applications, with runners and a thermal curtain in position to enable frozen produce to be carried within the front compartment of the body. All three vehicle bodies have both side door and rear double door access, whilst extensive alloy rails have been fitted within the body to facilitate pallet loading.

According to Graham Reynolds, Transport Manager at Ponteland based company R Manners and Sons, “We haven’t specified GRP refrigerated van conversions for many years now, however in the recent review of our bodywork suppliers, we made the decision to return to GRP and are extremely pleased with the subsequent result. During the buying process we worked closely with GRP on the detailed specification for these vans and GRP provided us with a superb all round package. Not only is their product quality first class but their approach to our business could not be faulted.”

During the build programme, R Manners and Sons visited the GRP manufacturing facility in Leeds to monitor progress as the first vehicle was being completed and this close working relationship covering the conversions for all three vehicles impressed the company.

As Ian Lang, Sales Director at GRP said, “It’s reassuring when former customers return to the fold after a period of time, as they recognise the quality of the refrigerated van conversion produced by GRP. By working closely with R Manners and Sons, we have been able to produce a body to their stringent requirements, incorporating a selection of unique features.”
