The Telford-based company, the leader in aluminium packaging, has continued to go from strength to strength as it grows sales, products and services. Following a £2.5 million investment in a new manufacturing site in the town over the past year, the company is looking to continue its sector-bucking trend of gaining market share and export reach.
Plans for 2012 include a further half million pounds of investment and new tooling to specifically grow the range of wrinklewall products the company offers. This will increase customer choice while also increasing capacity at the firm’s new 5,500 m2 premises.
The company is reporting a rise in exports to 25% of total sales over the past year, with growth coming mainly from EU countries interested in ‘ready to cook’ style products, already popular here in the UK. Over 20 countries are now supplied directly by i2r.
Commercial director, Jon West, said: ‘With a rapidly increasing customer base our strategy for growth is vital to fulfilling customer’s needs both now and in the future. We are focused on increasing our range of products and production capacity and offering the marketplace a broader choice of products which is vital in the demanding and competitive food industry.
