The UK’s No.1 supplier of Caribbean food & drink launches new Jamaican meal kits

This year, Grace Foods – the UK’s No.1 supplier of Caribbean food and drink[1] – is introducing the exciting new Irie Eats range featuring five delicious and authentic Caribbean street food meal kits and sides.

With Caribbean food and drink sales normally confined to the World Foods aisle in supermarkets, Irie Eats is bucking this trend and will be found in the mainstream meal kits aisle alongside similar brands, offering customers authentic ingredients including signature jerk seasoning sourced directly from trusted Island growers.

Easy, convenient, and fun, the five products in the range are inspired by classic Caribbean favourites and include four Meal Kits as well as a traditional Rice & Peas side. All products in the range are suitable for vegans and follow a simple 5-step process to get them ready to serve in under 25 minutes – simply add your choice of protein or vegetables and you’re good to go!

The launch comes after research has shown that Caribbean cuisines scores at the top of those world cuisines (outside of the already established mainstream UK cuisines such as Chinese, Indian and Mexican), which Brits haven’t yet tried at home but nearly half (49%) would like to.[2]

Giuseppe Vullo, Brand Manager at Grace Foods, said; “This is a significant and exciting opportunity for us to introduce authentic, traditional and flavourful Caribbean meal solutions to a new consumer audience who are interested in Caribbean cuisine but haven’t yet had access to these great flavours.

“We’re excited to continue building awareness of Caribbean food in the UK market, providing a delicious and easy to use range inspired by classic island favourites. In Jamaica, ‘irie’ means “everything is fine, nice, good or pleasing” – so what better name for an exciting new range of authentic Caribbean street food meal kits that allow you to bring those pleasing Irie vibes directly into your home!”

Irie Eats is available from 11th August 2021 exclusively in Tesco stores nationwide with wider distribution from December.
