Family-run Irish health food company, Good4U is launching three New protein ball multi-packs into the Tesco wellness fixture at the beginning of September, a first for its snack range going into UK retail.

Good4U’s new 100% natural, high fibre, high protein, plant based, no added sugar protein balls, which are also gluten, nut and dairy-free, are a tasty, convenient and filling snack solution designed for consuming at home or on-the-go. Each pack contains 7g of protein and 124 calories.

Three protein ball varieties launching into 180 Tesco stores are: Cocoa Orange, Raspberry Brownie and Salted Caramel (RRP £5.50).

Michelle Butler from Good4U commented: “As a family-run health food company, our mission is to empower people of all ages to live a healthier life with our functional foods that transform the nutritional profile of meals from breakfast to dinnertime. The launch of our 100% natural, plant based protein balls into Tesco is another exciting step towards achieving this goal and supports the retailer’s ambition for its shoppers to buy healthier snacks.

“As a brand, we are fast gaining traction for our inclusive range of nut-free snacks which offer something for everyone, including vegans and allergy sufferers.

“Innovation is at the heart of our business and everything we produce is created from scratch using the power of natural ingredients in order to deliver the healthy, honest, affordable and sustainable products consumers are looking for.”

According to Mintel, two thirds of people are seeking snacks that offer a specific benefit, while 19% are concerned with protein content [Mintel Attitudes towards Healthy Eating 2022]. IRI data shows protein products added £25m to the snack bar category in 2022, whilst sports nutrition and everyday protein are growing at 24.7% year on year. Kantar research suggests healthy snacks are most likely to be eaten earlier in the day, when 37.7% of snacks are chosen for health reasons.

Since 2004, Good4U has gone from strength to strength, now offering more than 40 products including Functional Breakfast Boosts, Salad Toppers, Protein Balls, Roasted Bean Super Snacks and Kids Nutri Balls – all designed to enhance core meals and snack occasions from breakfast to dinnertime.
