The UK’s leading independent drinks business, Global Brands, has appointed Keith Beattie as Director of Sales – International, consolidating a wealth of expertise in the international arm of the business.

Keith re-joined Global Brands in 2019, continuing an impressive career spanning more than 20 years, that includes senior UK and international roles with BrewDog, Douglas Laing, and Quintessential Brands. Since 2019, Keith has recently headed up international sales at Global Brands, with focus on their key premium tonics, soft drinks, and sodas brand Franklin & Sons.

In the role, Keith will continue to lead the international sales business unit of Global Brands, including managing the company’s USA subsidiary which launched in 2020. This includes growing global distribution and import partners for key brands in the portfolio – including Franklin & Sons, VK, Hooch, LUSTRE, Shake Baby Shake, Corky’s, and Amigos Tequila Beer.

The appointment follows consistent growth internationally and in the US market over the past two years, with the launch of premium tonics, soft drinks, and sodas brand Franklin & Sons in the US in 2020.

Keith Beattie, Director of Sales – International at Global Brands: “I’m focussed on driving Global Brands ambition to deliver more in terms of international sales across our portfolio across multiple markets.

“In particular, in North America with Franklin & Sons and in Asia with our Ready to Serve alcoholic ranges, there is huge opportunity and potential for us.

“I’m energised and humbled to take up the new role and lead the international channel into our next phase of growth.”

Julian Atkins, Commercial Director at Global Brands: “After just over 3 years back in the business, the time was right for Keith to join the executive team.

“He has built a really strong team and has led the growth strategy which will see our international business more than double over the next few years.

“Franklin & Sons remains the biggest growth opportunity by far but our portfolio presents some very quick wins too and I know Keith is the right man to unlock them.”

Franklin & Sons have seen consistent growth both internationally and in the UK since the brands revival in 2015, becoming the second largest premium tonic in the UK On Trade, worth £13.8 million.1 The award-winning brand recently received ten awards at the Tonic & Mixer Masters 2022, receiving the prestigious Global Masters Tonic & Mixer Grand Master 2022 award. The title means the brand accumulated the most points from judges in tonic & mixer categories throughout the entire competition.
