Renowned, award-winning Indian food brand, Geeta’s, is reporting a 4.4% increase in its chutney sales, against a market decline of 2%, with particularly strong growth recorded for its flagship Premium Mango Chutney.
Sally Campbell, Category Manager at Geeta’s Foods comments: “Our Premium Mango Chutney has been established in the UK for over 20 years; we have a fiercely loyal consumer base, who regard Geeta’s as a heritage product, an attribute which sits well with the current trend for nostalgia. We have worked hard to build brand awareness this year and are pleased to have seen penetration increase by almost 10% year on year. Our aim for 2017 will be to further build on this with a new integrated marketing campaign alongside a drive to increase distribution.”
Geeta’s range includes Mango & Chilli Chutney, which has now overtaken Lime & Chilli Chutney, reflecting the ongoing trend for spicier flavours, Mango & Ginger Chutney, Onion Chutney and Tamarind Chutney. For convenience and speciality retailers the exciting new, smaller 230g range offer the popular Mango and Lime variants as well as Aubergine Pickle, Chilli Pickle and new Pomegranate and Mango Chutney.
Geeta Samtani’s distinct range of Indian curry pastes, cooking sauces, spice mixes, chutneys, pickles and new cooking sauce kits all feature the bold and vibrant turquoise packaging, which is instantly recognisable as Geeta’s, giving the range strong shelf stand-out and brand visibility. The premium qualities of the chutneys are conveyed through the product’s glass packaging, and signature hexagonal jars.
