Varlink has worked with Fujitsu in the past to take selected mobile and POS devices to specialist markets. This re-engagement between the two companies will once again see Fujitsu draw on Varlink’s expertise in specific areas of technology to extend the reach of the STYLISTIC Q550 and drive further development of vertical market and specialist data capture solutions.
Running Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, the STYLISTIC Q550 provides systems integrators, VARs and independent software developers with a unique platform for mobile computing deployments in commercial or public sector settings.
Mike Pullon, CEO, for Varlink, states: ‘In the STYLISTIC Q550, Fujitsu has created a totally unique proposition in the burgeoning tablet sector and one that presents excellent potential for the development and delivery of specialist mobile and data collection applications in a wide range of industries. By adding the STYLISTIC Q550 to our portfolio, Varlink is giving its systems integrator and VAR customers the opportunity to use this exceptional tablet device as a platform for specialist mobile data capture and collection , point of sale, and presentation solutions.’
Michael Keegan, Managing Director of Fujitsu’s UK and Ireland Technology Products Group, says: ‘This agreement will enable us to open up new partnerships with specialist VARs and ISVs already working with customers in key vertical sectors and thus extend the reach of the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 into those markets. Varlink has an excellent reputation amongst value-added and specialist resellers and we’ll be helping them in every way we can to open up new partnerships and potential.’
As part of that process, Fujitsu will be supporting a three-day ‘Meet the Vendor’ event at Varlink’s York premises, with several Fujitsu staff on-hand to talk to sales and support teams, provide initial training and develop marketing plans.
