Fridge Raiders, part of Kerry Foods, today announces it is expanding its popular Chicken Bites range today with two brand new limited-edition flavours. Fridge Raiders has launched the new, limited-edition Festive Chicken and Stuffing flavour, currently available on shelves today, as well as an addition to its ‘World Flavours’ range with Caribbean Jerk Chicken.
The new Chicken and Stuffing flavour is a festive take on Fridge Raiders popular Chicken Bites, providing the classic sage and onion stuffing taste that shoppers know and love during the Christmas season, in a handy on-the-go packet. Research found that 66% of Brits prefer the combination of roast chicken and stuffing over turkey and stuffing, meaning the limited-edition variant is set to be a hit with shoppers. The new flavour, marking the first time Fridge Raiders ventures into the festive season category, will be exclusively available in Tesco Express as a part of its food to go range.
In addition to the festive launch, the brand is also expanding its Fridge Raiders ‘World Flavours’ range, with a new Caribbean Jerk Chicken flavour. Caribbean Jerk was picked following extensive consumer testing into what consumers wanted to see from the brand. The launch comes after the success of the Katsu flavour Chicken Bites that launched earlier this year in response to demand for Katsu flavour products which have seen a 300% growth in popularity in the UK over the last five years. The World Flavours collection has proven to be a hit with shoppers, with the Katsu flavour helping to drive growth of 24% across the Fridge Raiders range. Fridge Raiders is working hard to continue to provide flavours that are hits with shoppers, with Caribbean Jerk Chicken becoming its latest innovation.
The flavour expansions are further evidence of Fridge Raiders’ commitment to championing snacks of substance, as the two new additions are made with 100% real chicken breast, making them a convenient and nutritious snack, packed with protein. An increasing proportion of consumers (88%) are trying to eat healthily with 44% viewing snacks as a good way to boost their nutritional intake. Fridge Raiders Chicken Bites directly respond to this demand and are a robust choice for retailers looking to offer exciting snacks with additional nutritional benefits.
