The pioneer of British craft lager, Freedom Brewery, has launched a new 440ml four pack of Freedom Kolsch Style Lager available exclusively at Aldi stores around the UK.
Freedom Kolsch is the award-winning independent brewer’s take on the classic lager style originating from Cologne, Germany. The lager is fermented with German ale yeast and is long matured for a light, crisp flavour. Tasting notes include vinous, banana and bubblegum.
Freedom Kolsch 4.5% is an England and Wales listing; available across 891 Aldi stores in these areas.
Freedom Kolsch is the latest step in Freedom Brewery’s relationship with the UK’s fourth largest supermarket, following a recent on-pack promotion in May which gave the chance for a lucky Aldi customer to become head brewer for the day.
Matthew Willson, Managing Director at Freedom Brewery, said: “The launch of Freedom Kolsch is an exciting step in widening our product portfolio and progressing our partnership with Aldi. Our unique approach to brewing has enabled us to create an exciting new twist on a classic Kolsch style lager.”
Freedom Brewery was founded in 1995 and is renowned as the first purveyor of craft lager in the UK. The brewery utilises long, cold fermentation over 14 days, and long, slow maturation over a minimum of four weeks, to produce craft beer that is full bodied and flavoured, while also refreshingly crisp and drinkable.
The new Freedom Kolsch Style Lager (4x 440ml, £5.99) will be available in store on 14th September.
