At the TOTAL Processing Show in May, at the NEC in Birmingham, Fortress Technology will be highlighting a wide range of high performance Phantom metal detectors aimed at the food, pharmaceutical, lumber, plastics and textile industries. The latest Vector integrated conveyor system has been recently enhanced to meet new supermarket retailer standards. For example, it now features an alarm – either audible or visual – to indicate when there has been metal rejects in order to help identify potential issues early. The company will also be demonstrating an updated version of its Contact data-logging software and Gravity metal detector for accurate in line inspection of bulk dry, powder or granular products.
Fully compliant with British Retail Consortium (BRC) and English European Food Safety Inspection Service (EFSIS) specifications, the Fortress Vector conveyor system is a convenient and effective all-in-one solution developed to achieve the most accurate detection results by optimising the performance of Phantom metal detectors.
Purpose built to integrate with standard rectangular aperture metal detectors, the Vector conveyor offers reliable performance under the harshest production environments including washdown. Easy to clean and maintain, the machine features a fully modular design and is robustly constructed to industrial specifications using a stainless steel frame.
Fortress has recently made further enhancements to its CONTACT software. Developed to enable PC communication with its Phantom range, the software provides an innovative solution for detailed event logging, data collection and report generation to help make the inspection system a critical control point in HACCP procedures. Easy to install and use, the software now offers advanced features including a remote access option, new dashboard reporting tool, QA intelligence / system checks and ‘traffic light’ display.
Another useful addition is the ‘line and individual detector status reporting’ tool, which offers greater flexibility, providing the user with the ability to monitor an entire production line.
The Fortress Phantom Gravity metal detector has been developed to inspect a broad spectrum of bulk products that can be gravity fed through a pipe, including flour, rice, cereals, powders, corn, sugar, chemicals and nuts. Capable of detecting and rejecting both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, the robust and reliable system incorporates the latest digital signal processing (DSP) technology for unrivalled precision, speed and inspection results.
Available in painted aluminium or stainless steel with standard and custom aperture or pipe type and sizes, the gravity metal detector features a modular design and is built with anti-static pipes, air control and a ceiling support frame. An automatic reject valve diverts contaminated product into a reject tank. The Fortress UltraSense function ensures high sensitivity levels for detecting the smallest of metal contaminants. A variety of control panel options are also offered.
The company’s robust Phantom metal detectors are exceptionally reliable, yet easy to operate and maintain. Utilising the latest Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to ensure complete product integrity, the systems offer superior accuracy and speed. They are available in a wide range of aperture sizes with a selection of construction options including painted aluminium, stainless steel and BSH (IP69K certified).
Established in the UK since 1999, Fortress Technology provides an extensive range of metal detection systems to a variety of industries including food, pharmaceutical, lumber, plastics and textiles. As well as supplying a series of standard metal detectors, the company can custom-build machines to suit non-standard applications.
