Digital Foodie, the company behind Foodie.fm, the world’s first fully personalised social shopping platform for groceries, announced today the launch of new tablet based shopkeeper tools for running eCommerce operations in a modern way. The new tools are part of the Foodie.fm Product Suite that is introduced at LeWeb London visitors this week.
Foodie.fm Product Suite offers everything needed to run personalised online services for groceries. The core of the suite is the multichannel storefront built around Foodie’s recommendation engine. For assisted buying, the suite includes consumer facing service modules for personalised and social recipe recommendations as well as store based feedback and rating module that increases the transparency of retailer operations.
“Retail industry is undergoing a major transformation. Consumers demand transparency and personalisation like never before. The results we’ve achieved with S Group show that answering these needs clearly improves sales. We increased S Group’s online sales by 15% when transforming operations from traditional store to Foodie powered online store,” explained Kalle Koutajoki, CEO of Digital Foodie.
The new tablet based shopkeeper tools help retailers to move away from printouts and spreadsheets and improve the quality of operations. Instead of flicking through various documents, pickers can now access a dedicated view for orders from their iPads. They can easily modify the order in real-time if needed. Also drivers can communicate both with the store staff and the customers directly via Foodie on their iPads.
“The pace of which consumers adapt new technologies is amazing. In order to serve our customers in an optimal and most transparent way, we also need to utilise the latest technology. With Foodie’s technology and iPad based shopkeeper tools we can now react to changing customer needs much faster while improving the quality of our delivery operations,” says Ilkka Alarotu, Director from the S Group Grocery Chain Management.
Foodie.fm is an award winning multiplatform service that is currently available on the web, Facebook, iPad, iPhone, Android and Nokia platforms. Foodie is free for consumers to use and currently has 230,000 unique users.
In Finland Digital Foodie has created a close co-operation with S Group, one of the largest retail chains in Scandinavia and the leading retailer in Finland with a 45% market share, as well as with major brand partners. In the UK, Foodie.fm is available as beta and the product assortment is linked to Tesco through the Tesco API enabling the community a direct checkout with Tesco.com. In the UK, Foodie runs independently.
