Food redistribution charity FareShare has announced the appointment of Simon Millard as its new Director of Food, after the retirement of former Head of Food, Jo Dyson. 

Simon’s most recent roles include UK Commercial Director at IRI, and Channel Director at Premier Foods. He has a degree in Business Management from the University of Nottingham, and had previously worked in commercial roles in Mars for almost 10 years.

Simon said: “FareShare contributes significantly to the UK’s environmental efforts to reduce food waste, by turning surplus food into social goodness for the 10,500 charities we provide with food, delivering millions of meals per year. I’m incredibly proud to join FareShare to lead the team that partners with the UK food industry, helping businesses use their surplus food to achieve charitable outcomes. Having worked in the UK food industry for 20 years, I’m inspired by FareShare’s mission and look forward to helping FareShare provide even more impact environmentally and socially.”
