Ferrero UK is heating up ice cream sales this month with the launch of its new Kinder Bueno ice cream cones. Available in both single cones and multipacks of four in two iconic flavours, Kinder Bueno Classic and Kinder Bueno White, Ferrero UK’s latest addition to the ice cream category builds on the recent launch of its Nutella Ice Cream Tub, which has been a strong performer since coming to the market earlier this year[1].
Kinder has a 60% penetration in UK households[2], with Kinder Bueno products continuing to be well-loved across the UK and Ireland. With the UK’s ‘filled cones’ ice cream segment being the third largest in the ice cream category, making up 11% of the market with £163m in value sales[3], there is no better time to unveil the latest Kinder Bueno ice cream innovation.
The two new ice cream cones feature smooth hazelnut ice cream, a melt-in-your-mouth disc of Kinder Bueno chocolate decorated with crispy cocoa sprinkles, and a crunchy hazelnut-cocoa core, all wrapped in a crispy wafer cone with a hazelnut and cocoa tip. The multi-textured recipe has been perfected to ensure it combines the unmistakable taste of Kinder Bueno, with the refreshing, creaminess of an ice cream to entice shoppers.
Dani Hayward-Bradley, Regional Marketing Director, Ice Cream at Ferrero: “The Kinder Bueno ice cream cones first launched across Europe several years ago and have delivered an exceptional performance to date[4]. What’s more, when launched in Ireland last March, Kinder Bueno ice cream cones were hailed as two of the best performing new products in the category, demonstrating the potential opportunity on offer to drive additional ice cream sales in the UK market.
“Whilst compared to Europe the UK ice cream cones market is smaller, Kinder Bueno’s latest launch presents a huge opportunity for retailers to excite both Kinder Bueno and ice cream shoppers alike, driving additional sales in the category.”
The new Kinder Bueno ice cream cones are rolling out on 18th November in Morrisons stores nationwide and will be available in both Kinder Bueno Classic and Kinder Bueno White flavours in multipack and singles formats, at an RRP of £4.95. The launch builds on the successful release of Kinder Bueno Classic single ice cream cones in the convenience channel in February 2024, with a wider rollout in the UK grocery market planned for 2025.
