spam-man.jpgFans of Featherstone Rovers and Sheffield Eagles were given an extra SPAM™tastic time at a recent rugby match at The Chris Moyles Stadium, when they were treated to new SPAM® Slices and a guest appearance by SPAM™man.
Everyone attending the Thursday night match was able to enjoy a SPAM® Slices sandwich, fresh from the SPAM™ van, while children received a special limited edition mini SPAM™ rugby ball.

As the half time whistle blew, it was time to introduce the mascots from local rugby league clubs, including Wakefield, Castlefield and Featherstone, as they went head to head in a special pitch game. However, to everyone’s surprise, there was an extra character joining in the fun and games – none other than SPAM™man, who put on a brave performance in front of the 1,500 strong Yorkshire crowd.

Rebecca Wilson, European Brand Manager for SPAM® said: “We had an amazing response from fans to the new Slices and sampled over 2,000 sandwiches on the night. I’m sure our presence cheered many people up as Featherstone Rovers were just beaten by Sheffield Eagles on the night.”

She continued: “Most people will have heard Chris Moyles talking about SPAM® on his Radio 1 Breakfast Show and his sports editor, Carrie, even mentioned SPAM®’s presence at the game, in the sports news that morning.”
