The nation’s favourite sticky toffee pudding* Farmhouse Fare has generated excitement for the brand with the successful creation of a record-breaking dessert.

The brand has earned a place in the Guinness World Records™ book by cooking up the world’s largest sticky toffee pudding, weighing an impressive 334kg. The dessert far outweighed the previous record of 200kg.

“Our successful world record attempt has generated a huge amount of excitement around the brand,” says Nigel Parrott, Group Marketing Director. “As well as attracting the attention of new consumers, this bold activity has reminded brand loyalists that Farmhouse Fare is truly the master of puddings.”

The attempt was supported by supermarket chain Booths, and the following weekend the pudding was served for tasting to shoppers in two of its Lancashire stores. Consumers were asked to make a small donation to Macmillan, a charity which improves the lives of people affected by cancer. Many of Farmhouse Fare’s suppliers also donated money and time to support the cause. More than £6,000 was raised by the activity, which was boosted to £10,000 by Farmhouse Fare.

“The sampling in Booths was an ideal way to drive trial of our famous pudding and attract new consumers, whilst raising money for a very worthwhile cause at the same time,” says Parrott.

The enormous pudding contained 190 eggs, 91kg of sugar and enough butter to spread on 7,300 sandwiches.

“Our spectacular pudding highlighted the impressive skill of Farmhouse Fare’s bakers, and showed consumers how dedicated we are to delivering delicious desserts,” says Parrott. “Our position in the Guinness World Records™ book has truly put the brand on the map, and we’re certain it will lead to a huge increase in demand for our puddings.”
